Placing the DBA and intial testing
Before we're going to put these parts online we need to test them to see if they are up to our needed standarts.
As you can see the difference is pretty noticable. Our brake pads really needed replacement but you can see the difference in the pictures.
On the left you can see the new DBA pads and on the right the original BMW pads.
Today we placed the DBA discs and pads on our demo / testing BMW F87 m2.
Fitting the kit is nice and easy as all dimensions are the same as OEM.
After getting the brakes bedded in we went for a small test on our local backroads the first things we noticed is that we didn't need to put as much pressure on the pedal as before.
So our first thoughts are very positive.
The brake pads we decided to go for were the extreme performance pads. These are good for the ocacional track use and street use as we need to get the m2 to and from the track on public roads.
It needs to be a good balance between full on race and street so that the other drivers don't get scared because a quick stopping car in front of them.
Specifications for the brake pads:
- Semi-metallic, carbon fibre friction material
- G-G Class Friction (0.45 average mu from low to high temperatures)
- Excellent high temperature performance
- Optimal braking consistency up to 550℃ (1022℉)
For the discs we decided to go the full track route.
We went for the T3 5000 series for optimal braking performance combined with the Extreme performance pads.

Tri-Symmetrical curve slots dampens the vibration harmonics or noise | A quieter, responsive and smoother brake pedal feel |
Increased number of out-gassing exit points for brake pad friction gasses to escape through | Increases the consistency and effectiveness of every brake stop
Universal slot design | Eliminates the need for left and right discs

Heat paint markings change colour at specific temperature thresholds | Offers the driver a clear indication of peak braking temperatures |
When temperature thresholds are exceeded paint markings will permanently change colours | Allows the driver to monitor rotor fatigue and decide on rotor replacement and to assist resellers with warranty claims
